A new series of Botanical Talisman created by Laura Cannell June 2025.
In June 2025 I gathered leaves, stems, and seeds of flora and plants and I pressed them into clay, they left behind their stories and patterns. Then I bisque fired them and covered the impressions in gold leaf. It was a slow and magical process. An antidote to everything, a balm.
These talisman are a piece of the Norfolk/Suffolk borderlands, they are embedded with thoughts, and folklore and music. Hang one in your house, to remind you that we are all different but connected. These are the plants that bind us.
We all have something special to offer, like the plants.
Each Botanical Clay Talisman is different too.
